In order to be responsive to the Blues community and to be able to assist needy Blues musicians, the Diamond Teeth Mary Memorial Really Got The Blues Fund has been formally established and funded by the Suncoast Blues Society. Any member in good standing may petition the Grants Committee, in writing, for assistance on behalf of a needy Blues musician. The Grants Committee will review all requests for assistance and determine whether they meet the established criteria for a grant. All grants shall be based on the needs of the applicant and shall be made only after a determination by the Grants Committee and the Board of Directors that there exists both a need and a lack of sufficient resources on the part of the applicant to fully address that need.

Funding for this account is derived from 50% of the net profits of any compact disc or other recording produced by the SBS; any contributions which the contributor earmarks for the fund; and/or special events as determined by the Board of Directors of the SBS. The initial funding was provided by "After Midnight" Digger who donated the entire door from the Diamond Teeth Mary Memorial Concert, which was held at Skippers Smokehouse shortly after Mary's death, to this fund.
