Carl Weathersby“Restless Feeling”Evidence ECD 26099 Two years on the road with his early hero and mentor, Albert King, and fourteen years with Billy Branch and the Son’s of the Blues convinced Carl that in order to play his blues he would have to do it alone. “The Blues must change or die” proclaims this talented guitar player, and change it he does. If you’re looking for classic blues stylings, you’ve come to the wrong place. Carl takes the blues from the traditional to a funky, soulful, super highway of hard-hitting R&B based blues. A versatile rhythm section is required to go where Carl leads and he has assembled just that. David Torkanowsky lays it down on the B-3 and keys, second guitar Rico McFarland shows his stuff both as a player and writer as he contributes 3 tunes to the effort, and Steve Potts (drums) and Dave Smith (bass) keep the beat steady but moving. Restless Feeling is Carl’s third release in two years and with each subsequent effort, he pushes the envelope of the blues a little more. Check it out, your feet will love you for it.
